Our Learning Walks go beyond a "normal walk in the countryside".
Our walks are led by local teachers who knows the Peak District area extremely well. We take the time to explain places along the routes. We want you to really learn about the place you are visiting and make it fun for the children. Walk leaders are MLTB trained with years of experience in leading groups.
We welcome individuals, groups and families. Dogs are most welcome too!
Our focus is to deliver a tailor made experience, so we will arrange the walks at a time that is suitable to you.
Walks can be offered 7 days a week.
We will guide you through beautiful woodland glades to see waterfalls or heritage of the mining past or wildlife such as kingfishers. We can also take you over the purple heather moors. In fact, there is so much to experience, its a tough choice for what to leave out.
It is our intention to show you the hidden gems and curiosities of the White Peak and the Dark Peak. Our routes can take you to Bronze Age stone circles, to rare plants such as orchids or carnivorous plants, to locations to spot wildlife such as the peregrine falcon and to stunning views for photography.
We will tailor the routes for families to keep the young ones intrigued and older ones less grumpy.
Our walks take about 4 hours to complete. Within the walking time, we build in time for stops to interact with points of interest.
We offer a range of shorter 2 hour walks as well as full day walks.
In fact, we tailor make our walks to suit your time and circumstances.
