Start in the historic village of Youlgrave.

Robin Hood Stride - understand the legends and geology of these distinctive rocks. Watch the climbers and enjoy a play traverse in the lower rock handholds.

Stanton Moor - experience the Bronze Age stone circle, play in the Corkstone and glimpse wildlife in the heather.

Haddon Fields - view the medieval Haddon Hall and look for the peregrine falcons.

Bradford Dale - see Alport and its historical significance, try to spot the kingfisher and other stunning species.

Youlgrave - pass the Swimming pool and return to the starting point in Youlgrave.

Start Monsal Head for the most spectacular view of Monsal Viaduct. Easy parking and refreshments are available here.

Monsal Dale - dropping down below the viaduct we will enjoy a beautiful riverside walk looking for wildlife such as the enchanting Dipper.

High Dale - after a steady uphill walk out of Monsal, we will walk through the dry valley and understand how the Ice Age glaciation dramatically shaped the Peak District.

Litton Mill - dropping down again to the river, we will experience the legacy of the early Industrial Revolution.

Millers Dale - enjoy a fascinating walk through the meandering gorge to understand the power of water in shaping the environment.

Monsal Head - a final triumphant climb back up the the starting point for an ice cream and other refreshments.

Youlgrave Yomp and Monsal Magic are our two featured walks for spring and summer 2023. In addition, we can arrange many more guided walks to suit your arrangements. As we are teachers, we like to take families on guided walks to make it fun and informative for all.

Here are a few suggestions for other family guided learning walks in the Peak District that we can arrange for you.

Lathkill Dale near Bakewell - a beautiful 6 mile (10km) circuit following the River Lathkill to its movable source, which may be a spring or exploding from a cave after heavy rainfall. It is an excellent family friendly walk past azure blue pools, waterfalls and caves to spot wildlife in the Nature Reserve and understand how the river was used for centuries in lead mining.

Carsington Water - this 7 mile (12km) guided walk around the lake is enhanced with our team-building activities en route.

The Roaches (near Leek) - enjoy spectacular views of Staffordshire as we explain the geology of the area and take part in our team-building games. We may even be able to find some edible plants as well as some carnivorous plants too!

Kinder Scout - this guided walk takes you to Derbyshire's only real mountain. We take you to the unique rock formations, through the beautiful summer heather to spot moorland flora and fauna.

Dovedale and its famous Stepping Stones can easily be arranged for you.

Thor's Cave and the Manifold Valley is a hidden gem of a riverside walk that can be tailored to suit your time and energy.
